I’m really interested in reading this book, partly because it seems similar to the Kite runner, in its cultural context. In short, it looks to be about an American family in Istanbul with their teenage son meeting the family and falling in love with their teenage girl. After an earthquake rips apart the country, the girl’s father wishes to move his daughter and family back to more traditional Muslim roots, fearing the “western” influence of the American family. It’s a tragedy, which, at least in my opinion, gives many books depth, so lets hope this turns out to be a good read. Anyone?
